Water Utility Manager
Water Utility Manager - $7,621.46 - $9,285.98 Monthly
General Function:
Plans, directs, and implements Bremerton's water resource, supply, water operations and treatment, and water quality control programs for its large unfiltered surface water and groundwater system. This includes dam operation and safety; system operations including disinfection and UV treatment, pump stations, reservoirs, and automatic control valves; and stormwater permit compliance. Ensures water planning and environmental monitoring programs are in compliance with the Safe Drinking Water Act and Clean Water Act. Manages technical personnel in the Water Resources Division.
Qualifying Education and Experience (Minimum Requirements):
- A four year college degree with emphasis in environmental science, water resources, chemistry, engineering, public health and/or public administration and five (5) years working experience which includes water system management, water supply operations and treatment, environmental monitoring, laboratory analysis, technical writing, and regulatory reporting.
- One year experience supervising technical personnel. Valid Washington State Water Distribution Manager 4 and Cross Connection Control Specialist Certifications are required, or ability to obtain this certification or a WDM 4 OIT within one (1) year of hire.
- Must maintain this certification through ongoing professional growth requirements.
- Some special certifications may be required to be obtained after hire or specified by the appointing authority.
A Valid Washington State Driver's license is required.
Other relevant education and experience may be accepted if that education and experience demonstrates the knowledge, skill, and ability required to perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above.
