HVAC/Boiler Technician
Appointment Date- Open until filled.
Responsibilities-Under the direction of the Director of Campus Services, is responsible for the general repair and maintenance of the building equipment with primary responsibilities in operation and maintenance of all HVAC equipment, including but not limited to chillers, boilers, condensers, fin-tubes, PTAC units, air handlers, and associated control systems. This full-time employee also repairs and installs electrical equipment, such as electrical outlets, ballasts, circuit breakers, etc., and other electrical systems equipment; repairs plumbing: sinks, traps, toilets, urinals, flush valves, supply valves, etc. and water fountains. Also, may do painting and patchwork to maintain buildings in good condition.
Qualifications-Must have knowledge of all MEP systems (See above detail), related tools and their uses, electrical systems. Ability to repeatedly lift up to 60 lbs., stand and/or wait for long periods, perform the mentioned tasks while in various physical positions, and climb up to 15 ft. on a ladder. Ability to follow both oral and written directions, work with and take direction from staff; have basic computer skills. Read blueprints and equipment specification/operation manuals. Experience and/or coursework in HVAC, Refrigeration, chillers and Boiler operations required. High School/GED with related coursework or specialized training beyond High School. Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the HVAC field with 10+ years preferred. Must pass a background check for criminal records.
