Home Ownership Opportunities Housing Counselor
The Arc of Spokane's Home Ownership Opportunities program is seeking a Housing Counselor to support people with developmental disabilities and their families attain and maintain affordable housing and home ownership. This individual will work one-on-one with clients to help them achieve their goals for housing stability and financial opportunity with money management, credit, rental, home ownership and foreclosure counseling. Housing Counselors also offer financial education and home buyer education classes. In addition, Housing Counselors administer our down payment assistance loan funds for eligible home buyers. The ideal candidate should have experience with personal finance, rental and home purchase processes, and mortgage financing. HUD certification, experience or training in housing counseling is preferred. Must have strong interpersonal, presentation, and technology skills. Bachelors' degree or equivalent and minimum of two years of related experience, and/or similar combination of education and experience. This position is full time, 30+ hours per week to start and expanding to 40 hours per week after 90 days. Agency will provide successful candidate with opportunity to obtain required certifications by August of 2020. Position includes medical, dental, life insurance and retirement after eligibility is met and professional development opportunities. Includes paid leave and paid holidays. $17-19.55 per hour depending on experience.
