Looking for a new challenge or the next step in your accounting career? APWA is searching for asenior accounting professional that plays an essential role focused on all areas of tax compliance and filing, contract review, state business registration, and the association’s general and event insurance coverages.
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for key accounting cycle processes related to financial management and account reconciliations; non-profit tax filings (990, Canadian, FBAR) and reporting for the national association and chapters; association budget coordination and reporting, tax sales and use tax reporting; service and event contract financial review and compliance.
Bachelor’s degree in accountingor finance and a minimum of five years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in related areas of compliance, reporting, business registration, insurance and overall tax experience required. The successful candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be detailed oriented, strong organizational skills and have strong computer skills using Office 2010 or higher. Some light travel may be required. Experience in an association setting and working with Canadian agencies a plus.
